Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is a real earthly paradise, between the sky and the sea; a treasure of rare beauty so much so that Unesco proclaimed it as a “World Heritage Site”.

It takes the name by the town of Amalfi, which has a thousand-year historical heritage, thanks to its prominent part during the commercial exchanges in the
Mediterranean Sea.

View on Vietri sul Mare

The “Divine” coast is the land of lemons, uncontaminated beaches and of the Mediterranean scrub: it is placed in verticalposition with houses clinging to the rock, giving a very unique and picturesque landscape.

The Coast includes 13 Town Halls: Agerola, Amalfi, Atrani, Cetara, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Maiori, Minori, Positano, Praiano, Ravello, Scala, Tramonti and Vietri sul Mare. All the countries are connected by the State Road 163: an only, wonderful road overlooking the sea and one of the most beautiful in Italy.

Sorrento, thanks to its geographical position, is a strategic point to reach and visit the Amalfi Coast.

It must certainly provide at least a stop in the symbolic places of this wonderful strip of land: Positano and its colourful narrow streets; Ravello with Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone; Amalfi with its Cathedral, the Valley of the Mills and the Tower of the Ziro; Vietri sul Mare, the birthplace of the artistic ceramics.

Sita Bus TIMETABLE

(Please notice that, due to Covid 19, the timetable can immediately change and this cannot be reported in real time).

By Hydrofoil and Ferry

From the port of Sorrento, Marina Piccola, it’s possible to reach the main ports of Positano and Amalfi. The transport is available from April to October.

By car/scooter

Starting from Sorrento, it is sufficient to follow the signs leading from here to the State Road 163 and thus you can reach and stop in the main towns of the coast in complete autonomy.

If by car, it’s good to know that finding parking can be difficult, especially in the busiest
periods. Riding can be an excellent as well as an “adventurous” solution and, sometimes, also cheap.

There are different agencies in Sorrento that rent small and big scooters. You just have to be an expert driver to tread the roads of the Coast!
