The exhibition “Andy Wahrol, Life, Pop & Rock” arrives in Sorrento, in Villa Fiorentino!
it is dedicated to one of the most influencial, multifaceted, loved and discussed artists of the twentieth century.
From 10 June to 15 October the exhibiting spaces of the villa will hold over 150 works by the New Yorker artist in an extraordinary exhibition: drawings, silk-screen printings and photographs.
Works and objects that have nominated Andy Wahrol as the father of Pop Art.
The exhibition is developed in a journey of eight rooms and over 150 works including some rarerly and some never exhibited to the public, coming from private collections and proposed in a project especially imagined for Villa Fiorentino.
The exhibition is characterized by original themes such as the music and the bond with the art gallery owner Lucio Amelio.
Naturally the public will also get in touch with all the main genres of Wahrol’s expressive language, such as the silk-screen printings, the Polaroids and the posters.
The exhibition retraces the artistic and personal history of the master Pop Art, showing the whole universe of Warhol: the art, the graphic, the cultured meetings with the star system and those with the ghetto;
but also the music, the publishing industry, fashion, the photography and the cinema.
