A weekend dedicated to music, art and gastronomy, the scheduled October 16 to 18 as part of "Sounds Divine Divine Wine", organized by the city of Sorrento, in collaboration with the Cathedral of St. Philip and St. Giacomo di Sorrento, under the artistic direction of Mario Mormon.
The event gets underway on Friday 16 with Simon and Garfunkel in concert with the show "My grandfather died in the war," a vibrant mosaic of memories, songs and images in which the protagonists are small everyday heroes, men and women crossed by one of the most violent earthquakes history, World War II. His songs tell stories of bombings in the Roman suburbs, stories of hunger, of brave mothers of prisoners in Africa, of soldiers frozen in the retreat from Russia, stories of lager and partisan struggle, through authentic and unpublished collected by the author.
Saturday, October 17 will be the turn of the trio Peppe Servillo, Javier Girotto and Natalio Mangalavite three artistic personalities from different musical cultures, rich and versatile, which does not lack talent, interpretative ability and innate desire to improvise. The two Argentines encounter voice Servillo, giving birth to a perfect musical interlocking, continuous stimulation and desire to invent together new musical paths and new stories.
The festival will close Sunday, October 18 with the Oscar winner Louis Bacalov, together with Alberto Pizzo, young pianistic talent Naples. Their music can be described as an artistic journey that brings together jazz, classical melodies and big movie, with moments of improvisation. The two teachers will weave such a musical canvas where converge their styles, their personalities and their creativity.
The musical moments will be joined by those of the visual arts, with art exhibitions by photographers from Sorrento. Wine tastings and themed recipes Doc will have as protagonists local companies. As with past editions will display Sounds of Vinyl, a collection of rare vinyl with the possibility of listening sessions in high fidelity.
Concerts will be held in the Cathedral of Saints Philip and James in Sorrento at 20.30. The exhibitions will be set up in the sacristy and in the premises adjacent Cathedral from 19 to 23 hours while the wine tasting will take place in the square opposite the church.
Admission to the concert is free subject to availability.
