It is the last big diva in world cinema and since 2009 is also honorary citizen of Sorrento. Sophia Loren is one of those ageless characters who, thanks to the magic of the big screen, have gained fame and reputation worldwide. To Sorrento say the name of the Parthenopean actress means to bring to mind the images of the film "Bread, Love and ..." shot in the coastal in 1955 by Dino Risi with protagonists besides Loren also the unforgettable Vittorio De Sica.
And now the Fondazione Sorrento chaired by the owner Gianluigi Aponte and led by the managing director Gaetano Milano has decided to devote to the diva an exhibition with his most beautiful photos collected over the years by photographer Raffaele Celentano.
Not only are the images of youth drawn from the famous movie "Bread, Love and ..." set in the village of Marina Grande, but also photos with the greatest Italian actors such as Mastroianni and Vittorio De Sica, but also imágenes with famous faces of cinema And world music such as Clark Gable and Elvis Presley to demonstrate the international vocation that a character like Loren has conquered.
The exhibition, which collects over 70 shots, is set up in the newly restored rooms of Villa Fiorentino. The inauguration is scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, May 11, at 7 pm. The exhibition can be visited until October 30th.
To welcome the audience at the entrance of the villa a gigantography from the film "La ciociara"
The show is open every day from 10am to 1pm and from 4pm to 8pm, with the last ticket to be detached half an hour before the closing. The entrance costs 5 euros.
